Photo Flash: Mandy Gonzalez as Elphaba!

Beginning performances on Tuesday, March 23, Mandy Gonzalez, who originated the role of Nina in the Broadway musical, In the Heights, will assume the role of Elphaba in the musical blockbuster WICKED. Mandy joins a cast which includes Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Tony Award-winner Rondi Reed as Madame Morrible, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Andy Karl as Fiyero, Alex Brightman as Boq, Jenny Fellner as Nessarose, and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond. The role of Elphaba is currently being played by Dee Roscioli.

Mandy just finished filming the movie AFTER written by Sabrina Gennarino and co-starring Kathleen Quinlan and Pablo Schreiber. The film is now being edited...
Mandy recently appeared on episode 2 of THE GOOD WIFE, entitled "Stripped".

Mandy is currently starring in In The Heights at the Richard Rodgers Theater on Broadway. With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, and conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, In The Heights is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler.

"In The Heights is the quintessential New York musical, about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition," explain press notes.

Tickets for In The Heights range from $21.50 to $111.50, and can be purchased at the Richard Rodgers Box Office or at www.ticketmaster.com. Lottery front-row tickets ($26.50) are available two-hours before curtain.

The playing schedule for In The Heights is as follows: Tuesday - Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 7pm, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Added performances on Monday March 17 at 8pm, and matinees Wednesday, March 5, March 12, March19, and March 26 all at 2pm. Mandy to Star in In the Heights Off-Broadway

Mandy will star alongside Priscilla Lopez and Karen Olivo in IN THE HEIGHTS, a new musical, beginning previews Tuesday, January 9, 2007 and opening Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Off-Broadway's 37 Arts (450 West 37th Street). With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, IN THE HEIGHTS will be directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler.

IN THE HEIGHTS is a new musical about two days in the life of Washington Heights, a vibrant and tight-knit neighborhood at the top of Manhattan. From the vantage point of Usnavi's corner bodega, we experience the joys, heartbreaks and bonds of a Latino community struggling to redefine home.

The playing schedule for IN THE HEIGHTS is as follows: Tuesday through Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 7pm, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets go on sale Monday, November 20, and may be purchased at Ticketmaster.com (212-307-4100).
